Welcome to E-File/E-Pay

Welcome to the City of Columbus Income Tax E-File/E-Pay system for submitting city tax returns beginning with tax year 2013. This system allows you to download blank individual income tax returns from the "Forms Library", complete them on your home PC, and then upload and file them with the Income Tax Division. Taxpayers are also able to attach supplemental information or schedules to their returns and make online payments. Additionally, the system provides options for submitting a return online and mailing any supplemental information or payments via regular mail.

To file a basic return with us, please follow these steps:

  1. Download the electronic form from the forms library
  2. Complete the form on your computer, make sure to save and print a copy for your records
  3. Submit the return, and if necessary, make a payment through "Upload a Return"

Please note that the system will only allow one tax return to be e-filed per tax year. Amended or corrected returns cannot be filed on-line and must be submitted in paper form. Estimated payments using the Annual Declaration (IR-21) and quarterly vouchers (IR-18) must still be made using the general E-File / E-pay application found on the Income Tax Division Home Page. It is important to note that only transactions related to your annual filing, related information submissions and/or e-payments will be reflected in the "Filing History" for this system. Other on-line transactions will be reflected in the history related to the general E-File/E-Pay application.

If you are using a public computer, remember to remove your saved PDF return from the computer when you are finished.

Some web browsers attempt to open PDFs using their own reader plug-ins, which may impair functionality within PDF fill-in forms. So that the form will function properly, we recommend that you first download the interactive form (by right-clicking on the link for the form of your choice, e.g. 2015 IR-25E, and choosing "Save As") and then open the downloaded form from the location saved on your computer in the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Your account will be locked out for 30 minutes after 3 bad login attempts.
